Intimate surgery in Zurich
A discreet treatment area. Anatomical variation is normal; reasons for a consultation are usually irritation, symptoms during sport or with clothing, and marked asymmetry.
Consultations and surgery are performed by Dr. med. Dr. Phil. Annemarie Nijboer at Klinik Selnau, Zurich.
A protected setting
Concerns in the intimate area are personal. Consultation and examination take place in a protected setting, without time pressure and with the necessary calm. An accompanying person is possible on request.
The starting point is not an ideal image, but your individual situation: what troubles you in everyday life, since when, and what you expect from a treatment.
Anatomical variation is normal
Differences in size, shape, colour and symmetry are common and are not in themselves a finding. Treatment is only considered when symptoms arise in everyday life — for example recurring irritation, soreness, a feeling of pressure, or restrictions during sport or with clothing.
Labiaplasty
The most common procedure in this area is the labiaplasty — a conservative reduction of the inner labia when they cause mechanical symptoms. The aim is a functionally relieving, inconspicuous contour with preserved sensitivity.
Consultation
The consultation clarifies the specific symptoms, their course and your expectations. The examination assesses the findings factually; where necessary, a gynaecological co-assessment takes place. If there are no symptoms or conservative measures are sufficient, no operation is recommended.
Costs and personal consultation
The medical consultation for surgical procedures costs CHF 250. If you subsequently book an operation with us, the consultation fee is credited in full against the price of the operation. Following the examination, you will receive an individual cost breakdown that clearly states which services are included.
Frequently asked questions
Is a consultation confidential?
Yes. Consultation and examination take place in a protected setting. An accompanying person is possible on request.
When is a procedure appropriate?
Only when symptoms arise in everyday life — for example recurring irritation, a feeling of pressure, or restrictions during sport or with clothing. Anatomical variation alone is not a reason for treatment.

A good decision begins with a conversation.
The initial consultation is about clarification, not selling. It does not necessarily end with a surgery date — often it brings the realisation that a different approach, or no procedure at all, is the right choice.
